Decentrix Announces a New Release of BIAnalytix™ Media Business Intelligence Enterprise Data Warehouse utilizing the latest Microsoft BI tools

Decentrix BIAnalytix™ delivers powerful Media Business Intelligence (MBI™) analysis specifically designed for TV and Radio station groups, Cable Networks, Cable MSOs , IPTV, Digital Media, and Ad Agencies; implemented on SQL Server 2012 and Microsoft SharePoint 2013.

Decentrix today announced a new release of the BIAnalytix Media Business Intelligence system to take advantage of the latest business intelligence tools from Microsoft Corp. The expanded features are part of SQL Server 2012 SP1, Microsoft SharePoint 2013, Power View for Excel in Office Professional Plus 2013, and are available for Windows 8 devices.

Excel in Office Professional Plus 2013 supports the Power View business intelligence presentation tool that allows powerful dashboards and data visualizations to be created quickly by users and exploited within the BIAnalytix platform. BIAnalytix includes an extensive portfolio of media specific dashboards taking full advantage of the PowerPivot Data Models whether embedded into the spreadsheet or stored as Tabular cubes in SQL Server Analysis Services 2012 SP1. These dashboards can be deployed on SharePoint 2013 using Excel Services or within Excel spreadsheets.

The new Tabular cube supported by SSAS 2012 SP1 provide an in-memory columnar cube technology for small to mid-size cubes to support departmental and self-service business intelligence. These tabular cubes import data from both the BIAnalytix Media Data Warehouse and the BIAnalytix multi-dimensional cube to provide powerful media specific self-service analysis to users.

The release of Windows 8 has brought dramatic support for tablet analysis with an emphasis on mobile devices and touch interfacing. SharePoint and Power View for Excel provides the visual data analysis tools that can exploit these mobile and touch capabilities. These features are now imbedded in the BIAnalytix platform. In particular, all Windows 8-based devices, including the Surface Pro, have the capability and power to execute the full Power View for Excel business intelligence tool on a mobile form factor with touch capability.

"The new release of BIAnalytix™ can now extend media analysis to self-service BI on both the latest tablet touch technology, as well as through SharePoint, providing browser based tablet interaction." commented, Wayne Ruting, CEO Decentrix, Inc. This presents an expanded mobility opportunity for Media, Entertainment, Telecommunications and Advertising companies to rapidly deploy mobile self- service analytics initiatives very rapidly at low risk and with enterprise wide scalability."

"SQL Server 2012 SP1 and SharePoint 2013 help provide a scalable, cost-effective, and flexible Business Intelligence environment for customers," said Taras Bugir, managing director, Worldwide Media & Cable Industry Solutions, Microsoft.
